In Karanes District, the Survey Corps' forces gathered in the early morning. Once all Titans beyond the outer gate had been drawn away, Commander Gordon Haowler  initiated the 48th Expedition Outside the Wall. The support team of the Survey Corps engaged in combat with approaching Titans as the main force of the expedition continued its advance.
